China Factor makes it a year to remember

We have moved from strength to strength in our first year – finishing with a monthly traffic gain of 40%

We were born into the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, we are celebrating our first birthday with the fearless approach that launched the site in December 2020.

China Factor is growing up fast.

Our readership base has rapidly expanded with a rise of 40% in traffic during the past month. For that, we would like to say a heartfelt “thank you” to our loyal readers for making the media site a success.

And we promise we will continue to advance the principles of democracy and human rights by challenging the Communist Party of China’s geopolitical propaganda push.

Facts, not fiction has always been our goal.

There are no “Wolf Warriors” at China Factor. There are no company investors linked to the CCP or with business interests in the world’s second-largest economy.

China Factor plans to roll out new features to help you digest the big Beijing stories.

We are truly independent. And we have big plans for the future.

Just before we celebrated our anniversary, Dave Makichuk joined our small team of experienced journalists that have worked across the globe, including Beijing and Hong Kong.

He was an integral part of the Asia Times set-up in a career spanning more than 35 years. During that time, he has also worked for The Calgary Sun, The Calgary Herald and Nation Multimedia.

Coming soon will be Makichuk’s Memo, an in-depth look at China’s military and high-tech development.

As we head towards our second year, China Factor will also roll out new features to help you digest the big stories emanating from Beijing.
